My name is Dr. Denise Kehoe. I am a Chiropractor, a business owner, a wife and a mom. I am a nurturer to my core. I am passionate about maintaining an optimal state of health in myself, my family and my patients. A large part of disease prevention has to do with what you put in your body. If your diet consists of nutritionally void, process foods, that are loaded with chemicals, than don't expect your health to be good for long. On the other hand, eating diet rich in a variety of , fresh, chemical-free foods will surely sustain a healthy body, capable of healing and protecting you from a state of dis-ease.
As a Chiropractor I get to witness miracles everyday. By restoring normal nerve function, vital life force is turned on. Constipated baby's begin to have normal bowel function. The lame walk. Tremors cease. Congestion clears and normal breathing returns. All sorts of things are capable through chiropractic care. In many of these miracle situations, dramatic changes occur in a short time, but the seemingly disappearance of symptoms is just the tip of the iceberg. Healing must continue and that is only possible if the body is given adequate nutrients to do so.
Healthy eating is often perceived as bland and tasteless, isn't it? My husband admittingly ate very few vegetables as a child because he didn't care for the taste of them. Now, there isn't one he won't eat. My children are also fans of fruits and veggies and often devour them off their plate first, before anything else. Now if you have a "finicky" family that is a little squeamish around produce- FEAR NOT! Preparation is key. As you will see, you don't have to smother your veggies in cheese for them to taste good.
My own culinary skills have been work in progress for many years. As I child I use to pretend I had my own cooking show before cooking shows were cool. I would open my mother's copy of the JOY of Cooking and try my hand at different recipes. Over the years, my culinary know-how has grown and I have mastered the art of adapting recipes to fit my nutritional knowledge. Quality ingredients are key and I am constantly learning how to develop the flavors of a variety of foods in a way that will build health, not destroy it. I thank you for joining me on this journey and I look forward to sharing my love of food and my knowledge of disease prevention with you.
